Comments: The gel inside the leaves has many uses. The plant creates this gel to help it store water during droughts. Humans use this gel to remedy burns, moisturize skin, and counter acne. It is also used in desserts, yogurts, and beverages. Aloe rarely flowers indoors, but when grown outdoors the attractive flower stalk is an added benefit to this already versatile plant.
